JONATHAN MCELROY

I’ve done a fair amount of things throughout my life to this point, and I wouldn’t change a chapter as of yet. I threw my heart and soul into each phase, while having the mindset that anything worth doing demanded a steady dose of discipline and effort. Throughout middle and high school much of my time and passion went into sports, soccer, specifically. Afterwords, it shifted dramatically into the world of Music Theatre, and I spent the following years working as a professional stage performer. I married a wonderful woman, and with that, came my teaching phase. While employed by a hybrid theatre performance/education program, I performed and taught across forty-two states and Canada. I then spent time teaching a wide variety of art’s classes in a private school, as my family grew to include a precious son and daughter. From there, I entered a government-funded program, teaching life skills to at-risk youth.

As I taught, my imagination poured over stories and characters that I would love to present to the world. Eventually, I convinced myself to have the self-discipline to write a novel; I didn’t want to regret never trying. I did it, thoroughly enjoyed the process, and wrote a second novel. When my most recent teaching chapter ended, I decided to launch a new idea I had mentally entertained for quite some time. That idea was Vote the Book. I hope you enjoy.
